Winter Survival Tips: How to have great looking feet during the winter months!

Winter has hit us with a blast this year with a winter storm that has stretched from the northeast to the south and even the west coast! While we are focused on trying to stay warm this winter season, we should also think about keeping the least focused part of our bodies moisturized - out feet. Yes, Our feet! The part of our body that gets the least attention these days.

It is important during these winter months that we take care of our feet making sure they are moisturized and healthy.

I have put together some tips that I hope you will find useful in your foot care practices for the winter months. This is what I do and it works for my feet which tend to get very dry and scaly during this time of the year.

TIP #1: I highly recommend soaking your feet for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. This makes your feet soft and prepares them for the next step.

TIP #2: Use a foot scrub to get rid of dry scaly skin commonly found on the heel and bottom of the feet. Apply the foot scrub to the affected areas and follow up with a foot scrubber to take away dead skin cells. The foot scrubber I use is excellent. It is made of terra cotta and has a rough side for rough areas and a smooth side to take away the dead skin. After using the foot scrubber, rinse well and pat feet dry with a towel. I recommend a foot scrub once a week.

TIP #3: Use a moisturizing cream such as nourishing foot cream that moisturizes and soothes the feet. This cream is light and has a pleasant scent that can be used every day.

Check back soon as I talk about more topics concerning the health and maintenance of our feet!

Until next time.
